Gentlemen, today we delve into a topic that’s important in our modern, diverse world: understanding Pansexuality. It’s a term you might have heard, but what does it really mean? Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with the opinions of Elite Gentleman Hub, this is merely enlightening you to the popular meaning of this concept so that you are made aware of what it means when someone says “I’m Pansexual”.
What is a Pansexual?
Pansexuality, often described in the simplest terms, is the potential for romantic or sexual attraction to people regardless of their gender identity or biological sex. It’s a recognition that attraction isn’t limited by traditional gender binaries. It’s basically the new “bisexual” but in this case it’s saying “I’m into more than just CIS men and women.”

A bisexual may only want to be with people identifying themselves as “male” or “female” who were identified at birth as “male” or “female”.
The Philosophy of the “Gender Spectrum”
To understand pansexuality, it’s essential to first grasp the concept of the gender spectrum. Traditional views of gender as a binary such as just male and female are expanding. People identify across a spectrum, which includes non-binary, genderqueer, gender fluid and more. Pansexual individuals are open to relationships or sexual experiences with people across this entire spectrum. It’s an acknowledgment that love and attraction transcend conventional boundaries.
Pansexuals May Have Nuanced Preferences
This doesn’t mean pansexual people are attracted to everyone, a common misconception. Like anyone else, they have their preferences and types; it’s just that gender isn’t a limiting factor in their attraction.
There are a diverse number of sexual orientations these days gents, including pansexuality, it’s crucial in today’s world to see the variety of preferences for what they are and to understand WHY someone would identify this way.
Sexual Pariah or Sensual Genius
In essence, pansexuality is about the capacity for attraction without gender limitations. It’s a world view that’s inclusive, accepting, and embracing of all forms of love. As we navigate our increasingly diverse world, understanding and respecting each person’s individual experience and identity is not just polite – it’s paramount to being a man of culture and respect. That said, it’s also beneficial to keep your options open. Many who may have previously referred to themselves as “bisexual” may not refer to themselves as “Pansexual” in order to include people they’re attracted to regardless of their identity or dare I say it, regardless of whether they truly validate how they identify.
Take for example, a gent meets a very attractive person whom they’d identify at first glance to be a woman. This gent may find interest in them and may not even believe in anything other than the binary because of more traditional ideals for example. That said, if the gent were to find themselves attracted to that person, they may, unbeknownst to themselves actually be Pansexual. A great question is, can you be something you don’t self-identify as? I guess that’s the question of our times isn’t it?
